Jordan

Had a wonderful visit with our daughter Jordan last weekend - four days in Portland, OR (whirlwind tour.) Don't know how she does it - teaching classes, rehearsals, three shows and an exhibition! Whew!

It was special to see her, the grand cats, her students, Zack's family and all her friends.. and Kristin.

Still catching our breath.

CVRMLS Trend

The news this morning reaffirmed the recession is receding and while jobs will be slow to come back, that GNP was up and it's expected to continue slow growth over the next couple years. (Of course I just look at fast food prices and wonder why they say we're not seeing any inflation - Ha!)

On the local housing front...

BB

OK, this BlackBerry thing really is a good tool... just hate to see the phenomena that surrounds all the cell technology. I'm a facts, figures and free enterprise kind of guy. Ha!

FB...

Got to admit, I've been spending more time on Facebook than my Blog... sorry.

The national trend in real estate seems to be stabilizing, but my perception is the consumer confidence is still shaky - hope the fed helps more than they hurt that situation.

Of course pricing is the best it's been and is expected to climb slowing by most sources, so affordability is at an all time high = TIME TO BUY.

Loved it... sunshine!

The sunshine was a real pick me up yesterday and with a busy week, it sure helps.

Be interesting what history tells us about our economy and the real estate market down the road. We hear so much speculation - bottom, no bottom yet... bottom line is this is a good time to move up or buy that first home!

Affordability index is at an all time high.

Why unpack... another weekend with friends at the river. Seems like we've been gone every weekend lately - Ha!

Home for a while now! Busy week ahead.

Tuesday, October 13, 2009

Another busy weekend and now...

Another quick trip to NC to visit friends and family. Then hop back in the car to return for our Reynolds Can Division reunion.

Wonderful to see so many friends that meant so much during my 30 years at Reynolds.

And back up and running for a busy week at work...

Road trip

Spent four days on the road to Ohio and back - three stops and great time with family.

Second day back and I'm still sluggish - Ha!

Housing market...

Nationally things seem to have turned upward in the housing market and Richmond is too...

Hope the economy stays on track and the national leadership doesn't screw it up.

DC

Nice visit to the National Zoo and then the White House (7:30 am is early though...) Nice to be back home.

Today had a B'day brunch for Matthew at the Boathouse at Rockett's Landing. Good food, good company and nice venue... albeit a little noisy.

Enjoy...

Enjoy the holiday with your family.

Great day to relax some before the grill warms up. A little works first for me.

Texting - nix while driving - text-coholism

Re: The Today Show's comments on text-coholism... I really have to question the safety of texting while driving - don't just do it. Multitasking is a oxymoron. Even computers can't do it in reality.

I would even vote for no cell phones by drivers.
